What began as an outdoor, summertime garage hobby slowly developed into a local, online business over the course of 7 years, and more importantly, a gratifying experience of making things for other people.
The idea behind our company came after hours of searching online for cornhole boards to buy. We noticed many problems, all of which centered around one main issue: options were limited. Everything was sold by mass producing retailers, which comprised on quality in favor of quantity. We felt we could make a better quality product.
Our main principle would become centered around QUALITY above all else. Here’s why:
1). Mass retailers use flimsy, low-quality wood. We think this makes them look cheap (even though the prices don't exactly match that notion). Our first principle was to use stronger, higher quality wood to build our products. We believe higher quality wood makes them feel better, look better, and last longer.
2). Mass retailers use cornhole board sized, cut-out stickers. These stickers are called "wraps" which get laid on top of the board, covering up the cheap plywood underneath. So, our second principle was to provide a sense of authenticity to the style of our boards. We wanted to use real paint to create unique designs by hand and showcase the distinctive wood grain character. We think doing so provides the customer with something beyond just a set of cornhole boards, but also a sort of memorabilia to showcase in a man cave, office, garage, or favorite hangout spot.
3). Mass retailers offer little room for customization. We wanted options for different colors, patterns, logos, etc. So, our third main principle was to offer people a product that could be customized to match the vibe they're looking for.
We wanted to be different, so we decided that the material, build, and design had to be the best available.
